About BathGuide

Bathroom planning that feels like a good conversation.

We're a small team, founded by Jason Verdelli, and we spend our days obsessing over one question: what would actually help a homeowner figure this out? No pressure, no jargon, no "book a free consultation" trapdoors. Just clear answers, made for your house.

Why BathGuide exists

Most remodel sites are built to capture a lead. We're not.

The usual playbook
  • Prices hidden behind contact forms
  • Guides that read like brochures
  • Same three paragraphs, different city name
  • "One-day install" claims that skip day two
What we do instead
  • Real cost ranges up front, with scope
  • Straight talk on acrylic vs. tile, tub vs. full remodel
  • Local guides built for how homes are actually built
  • You walk into a quote knowing what you want
Every guide gets edited against one question: would a homeowner still find this useful if they never talked to a contractor? If the answer is no, it doesn't ship.

Our editorial principles

Homeowner-first, always

Guides are written to answer the question you actually have, not to hit a keyword or push you into a form. If we can't say it honestly, we don't say it.

Ranges, not made-up exact prices

Bathroom remodels don't have single 'true' prices. We publish ranges with the scope behind them, so you can compare quotes apples-to-apples instead of guessing.

Sourced and dated

Every cost claim ties back to industry data or real homeowner-reported quotes. Every guide carries a visible 'Reviewed on' date, refreshed at least once a year.

Independent of any contractor

BathGuide isn't owned by a remodeling company. Recommendations reflect what fits your home, not who's paying us.

No guest posts, no paid links

We don't accept guest posts, sponsored content, or link exchanges. Those requests get an automatic no.

Corrections in the open

Spot an error? Report it. Substantive corrections update the page's 'Reviewed on' date so you can see when we changed it.

How the guided BathGuide works

Two minutes. A real conversation. Zero pressure.

Julia, your BathGuide guide
Julia
Quick note before we start. There are no wrong answers in here, and you'll see your remodel profile before I ever ask for your name.
01
Tell me what matters
Seven short questions about your space, how you actually use it, and what you're trying to solve.
02
See your profile
Julia sorts it into a remodel path that fits how you live, with the honest tradeoffs called out.
03
Decide from here
Use the profile to plan, compare quotes, or just gut-check a project. No obligation to keep going.

How we make money

One revenue line, in plain English. If a guide doesn't actually help you, you won't finish, and we don't earn anything.

How we earn
A referral fee, only when you opt in

Finish the guided conversation, explicitly ask to be matched, and we connect you with one vetted local remodeler. That's the entire business model.

What we don't do
  • Display ads
  • Affiliate links tucked inside guides
  • Paid rankings or sponsored placements
  • Selling or reselling your data

What we build

BathGuide is a planning platform, not a contractor directory. Everything here is free and built to answer a real question a homeowner has before anyone gets called out to the house.

Common questions about BathGuide

Who runs BathGuide?+

BathGuide is founded and edited by Jason Verdelli, who has spent 20+ years studying how U.S. homeowners actually research and decide on home remodeling projects. Every city, county, and service guide is reviewed by Jason before it publishes.

Is BathGuide independent, or is it owned by a contractor?+

BathGuide is independently operated. We are not owned by a remodeling company. When a homeowner opts in at the end of the guided conversation, we may connect them with a vetted local provider. That's the only way we earn revenue, and it doesn't influence which options a guide recommends.

How do you decide what cost ranges to publish?+

Ranges come from a mix of homeowner-reported quotes, published contractor pricing, and industry cost data (Remodeling Magazine Cost vs. Value, HomeAdvisor, Angi, and manufacturer MSRPs). We publish ranges instead of single numbers because the honest answer really is 'it depends on scope', and we say so in every guide.

Do you accept guest posts, paid links, or sponsored content?+

No. BathGuide does not accept guest posts, paid placements, or link exchanges of any kind. Those requests get an automatic no. See our editorial standards for the full policy.

How often are guides updated?+

Every guide carries a visible 'Reviewed on' date. Cost ranges, timelines, and financing guidance are reviewed at least once a year, and any time a market shift makes them stale. Corrections trigger an immediate re-review of the affected page.

How do I report a factual error?+

Use the contact form and select 'Correction / factual error'. Include the exact page URL and what you believe is wrong. We investigate every report, and update the page's 'Reviewed on' date when we make a substantive correction.

Is the guided conversation a sales pitch?+

No. It's a 2-minute back-and-forth with Julia. You see your personalized remodel profile on screen before sharing any contact details, and matching with a local provider is optional. You decide.

Will my information be shared?+

Only if you explicitly opt in to be matched with a remodeling specialist. We never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
